Like any other automated chat services, ChatGPT on any customer service websites, people can request clarification or ask questions to ChatGPT’s replies. “Generative Pre-trained Transformer” is the full form of GPT which reflects processing of ChatGPT in terms of requests and response formulation. It is trained with reinforcement learning based on human feedback and reward models through ranking the best responses. This process helps ChatGPT augmentation with machine learning for future response improvement.

When & Who created ChatGPT?
An artificial intelligence research company — OpenAI created and launched ChatGPT tool in November 2022. A group of entrepreneurs and researchers including Elon Musk and Sam Altman founded this tool in 2015. The OpenAI company is backed by several investors, along with Microsoft. Dall-E, an AI text-to-art generator is also the product of OpenAI.

How does ChatGPT work?
ChatGPT creates humanlike conversational dialogue by using natural language processing through its Generative Pre-trained Transformer. It uses the GPT-3 large language model, a neural network machine learning model and Generative Pre-trained Transformer of gen3. The GPT pulls from a good amount of data to prepare a response.

At present it uses the GPT-3.5 model with a fine-tuning process for its algorithm. GPT-4 is now in use for ChatGPT Plus, offering a faster response time and internet plugins. This plus version is handling more complex tasks in comparison to previous models, such as generating captions for images, describing photos, and creating more detailed responses up to 25,000 words.

• It does not fully understand the complexity of human language so accuracy is questionable.
• Lack of knowledge for events and data after 2021.
• Responses may sound like a machine hence unnatural.
• It summarizes but does not cite sources.
• It cannot understand irony and sarcasm.
• There is a possibility of focus on the wrong part of a question and not be able to shift. Again accuracy is questionable.
